Perseverance Project Update

Based upon the newly identified resource and success of ongoing infill and exploration drilling, the RJV has initiated a bankable feasibility study (“BFS”) and development of underground access to the Perseverance deposit.

The BFS will incorporate ongoing drill program results (See press release dated June 19, 2007) to bring the current Inferred Resource of 300,000 tonnes at an average grade of 9.4 grams per tonne (“g/t”) Au for 89,600 contained ounces of gold to the Indicated Resource status and include required geotechnical analysis, hydrogeologic studies and additional metallurgical testwork.

In conjunction with the BFS, the RJV will develop a decline to the Perseverance deposit from existing permitted underground infrastructure at Empress approximately 300m to the south. Decline development will provide access for detailed underground drilling at Perseverance to determine final mine design, facilitate future production, and provide underground exploration drill positions along its length. The RJV has lodged a Notification letter with DOCEP for the commencement and re-commencement of work at the Tindals Mining Centre, and has tendered the decline development out for contract.
