CBR GOLD REPORTS POSITIVE METALLURGICAL RESULTS FROM NIBLACK DEPOSIT
EXCELLENT CU, ZN, AU, AND AG RECOVERIES IN LOCKED CYCLE TESTING

June 10, 2009

EDMONTON , Alberta – CBR Gold Corp. (CBG: TSX-V) (“CBG”), is pleased to announce detailed metallurgical test work results from its 100% owned Niblack Au-Cu-Ag-Zn project located southwest of Ketchikan on Prince of Wales Island, in Southeast Alaska. Metallurgical work completed on samples from the Niblack deposit has demonstrated high metal recoveries with excellent concentrate grades. This latest test work has resulted in significant improvements to metal recoveries over past metallurgical work conducted on Niblack deposit samples.

Test work has been completed on two 75 kilogram samples composited from half drill core obtained from mineralized intervals from underground drill holes completed in 2008. The first sample was selected to reflect the anticipated life of mine (LOM) grade and the second sample was composited to reflect higher grade zones (HG) within the deposit. The metallurgical test work was performed by SGS Canada Inc. at its Vancouver Metallurgy Facility under the guidance of independent metallurgical consultant Kevin Scott, P.Eng. of Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates Inc.

Key Point Highlights

  • High grade copper and zinc concentrates produced from both LOM and HG samples in locked cycle tests
  • Copper recoveries of 94.3% and 94.9% in LOM and HG samples, respectively, with excellent copper concentrate grades of  30.0% Cu  and 29.3 % Cu
  • Gold and silver recoveries into the copper concentrate of 62.2% Au and 61.2% Ag in LOM sample
  • Zinc recoveries of 90.2% and 93.3% in LOM and HG samples, respectively, with excellent zinc concentrate grades of 60. 5% Zn  and 65.6 % Zn
  • Gold and silver recoveries into the zinc concentrate of 9.7% Au and 15.8% Ag in LOM sample

Test work comprised a series of batch rougher flotation tests followed by open-circuit cleaner tests to test various grinding times and reagent schemes. This was followed by a final locked-cycle (6 cycles) test conducted under the optimum open-circuit batch cleaner test parameters.

Detailed results from the locked cycle tests for the LOM and HG samples are given in Table 1 and 2 respectively.

The recently completed metallurgical work at Niblack shows significant improvement on metal recoveries over that indicated by historic preliminary testing work conducted in 1990 and 1997. As the current Niblack resource is based on a Net Smelter Return (NSR) block-cut-off which incorporates metal recoveries in the formula (92% Cu, 83% Zn, 50% Ag and 40% Au) the updated recoveries are expected to positively impact the current resource estimate.

Niblack Deposit

Polymetallic VHMS mineralization at Niblack is hosted by a thick sequence of rhyolite that currently hosts six main massive sulphide occurrences - the historic Niblack Mine, Dama Zone, Lindsy Zone, Trio Zone, Mammoth Zone and Lookout Zone. Mineralization is controlled by fold repetition of the rhyolite sequence, with the Lookout and Trio zones located on the overturned limb of a property-scale synclinal fold.

CBR GOLD CORP. is a Canadian-based exploration and development company focused on the advancement of two wholly owned resource projects; the Niblack Au-Cu-Ag-Zn project in southeastern Alaska and the Three Bluffs gold resource project in Nunavut , Canada . The company also has several generative to early stage projects globally and is continuing to search for and evaluate undervalued gold and copper projects worldwide.
