COMMENCEMENT OF JAURDI HILLS DRILL PROGRAM, WESTERN AUSTRALIA
September 10, 2008
Committee Bay Resources Ltd (CBR:TSX-V) (“Committee Bay”) is pleased to announce the commencement of an exploration drill program at its wholly owned Jaurdi Hills Gold Project in Western Australia. The Jaurdi Hills tenements cover approximately 8,100 hectares, located 40 km northwest of the town of Coolgardie, within the Kunanaling District of the Coolgardie Mineral Field.
The exploration drill program, comprising 2,000 metres of reverse circulation drilling in 16 holes will test three new gold target areas. Recent geological mapping, soil and rock sampling combined with ground geophysics and airborne GEOTEM DEEP Magnetic-Time Domain Electromagnetic (TEM) surveys have identified several 1.5 km to 3.6 km long trends of coincident gold in rock and soil, and geophysical anomalies, generally along strike from pre-existing mining centers.
The targeted trends include;
- Derrys Own Zone: over 1.5 km long trend of coincident TEM, gold in soil and rock anomalies as well as a bulls-eye TEM anomaly with anomalous gold in soil halo
- Wealth of Nations: 2 km long trend of gold in soil, and rock with coincident magnetic anomaly along trend of the past producing Wealth of Nations mine (20,000 ounces of gold from historical underground workings)
- Jaurdi Hill Trend: 3.6 km long trend of elevated gold in soil adjacent to the eastern edge of a high magnetic basalt unit along trend from the past producing Jaurdi Mining Centre and Black Cat pits.
