TINDALS RESOURCE ESTIMATION COMMENCES AFTER DRILLING EXPANDS COUNTESS ZONE
FOCUS ON TINDALS AS POTENTIAL KEY SOURCE OF HIGH-GRADE UNDERGROUND ORE AT COOLGARDIE

April 27, 2006

Committee Bay Resources Ltd. (CBR: TSXV) and Joint Venture partners Focus Minerals Ltd (ASX:FML), today announced that resource estimation work has commenced at the historic Tindals Mining Centre, part of the Coolgardie Gold Project in Western Australia. The resource estimate will include results from a recent successful underground diamond drilling program which more than doubled the defined extent of the Countess Zone of mineralization.

The recently completed 4,500m underground diamond drilling program identified a down-dip extension of the Tindals East Zone and additional resource opportunities at Tindals West and Empress. Highlights included; 7.9m at 4.61g/t gold, 4.5m at 6.7g/t, 4.0m at 4.34g/t, 6.5m at 3.13 g/t and 2.0m at 5.77g/t (Countess Zone); and 4.0m at 6.39g/t, 5.0m at 2.47g/t, 5.5m at 3.95g/t and 3.0m at 5.79g/t (Tindals West). (See Table 1 attached for results of the recent drilling program).

The Tindals Mining Centre, which is located in close proximity to the Three Mile Hill treatment facility at Coolgardie, is regarded by the Redemption Joint Venture (Committee Bay and Focus) as a potential key source of high-grade long-term ore feed for a re-commissioned gold operation at Coolgardie. The recently completed diamond drilling program was carried out from within the existing underground infrastructure of the Empress mine, which will also provide future production access for the Tindals area.

Historic gold production at Tindals, primarily during the 1990s from open pit and underground mining, totaled 466,000 ounces. The Tindals system is located adjacent to the Redemption Corridor, host to the Empress Lodes, which have been mined underground utilizing the Tindals infrastructure. Mining at Empress continued through until April 2005 and when the previous owners suspended operations, production to that date was in excess of 60,000 ounces.

The recently discovered Countess Zone, currently hosts a 43-101 compliant Inferred Resource of 111,700 tonnes grading 4.7 g/t Au (16,879 ounces) based upon 14 historic drill holes (see previous drilling results attached in Table 2) which identified mineralization over an area of 100m by 75m with an average width of 5m.

John Williamson, President of Committee Bay, said, “The recently completed underground diamond drilling program has more than doubled the identified zone of mineralization at Countess to over 200m by 75m, with the zone remaining open in an up-dip direction”.

“The drilling was very successful in extending the Countess Zone,” Mr. Williamson commented. “In addition, it is significant that, during the early phase of drilling at Countess, additional mineralization was intersected east of Countess in the Tindals West Zone, which is interpreted to be a continuation of the main Tindals Lodes.”

“Geological interpretations and resource estimation is now in progress for the Countess, Tindals West, Tindals East, and Empress Zones, all of which can be accessed from the same underground infrastructure and which represent a priority area as a potential future source of high-grade underground ore feed for the Three Mile Hill plant,” he said. “We plan to conduct further drilling in these areas pending finalization of the geological models.”

The mineralized trend at Tindals occurs as a series of steeply-dipping mineralized structures that transect a package of ultramafic volcanics and diorite dikes. Mineralization is hosted primarily by diorites within the structural corridors.

Recently completed drill holes ED231 and 232 tested the Countess-Tindals system up to 200m below previous drilling. These holes all intersected the target diorites, which displayed intense alteration and sulphide mineralization along with highly anomalous gold values. While these holes did not intersect economic gold values, they clearly indicate that the mineralized system persists and is verging towards the Redemption Corridor at depth, which represents a priority exploration target.

Long Term Drilling Support Secured

In order to secure long-term underground drill availability at the Coolgardie Gold Project, the Redemption Joint Venture also announced today that it has purchased a 33% interest in Underground Drilling and Services Pty Ltd (“UDS”), a Kalgoorlie-based drilling contractor. As part of the purchase agreement, UDS will ensure drill availability to the Joint Venture for all underground drilling. UDS is looking to expand its drilling business, which would be of benefit to the Redemption Joint Venture as increased levels of drilling are anticipated in the near term.

Coolgardie Project

Committee Bay Resources Ltd., through the Redemption Joint Venture (Committee Bay in a 50% partnership with Focus Minerals Ltd. ASX: FML), has the mineral rights to more than 210km2 of under-explored greenstone tenements, located in one of the world’s most significant gold and nickel mining regions.  These tenements contain Indicated resources of 315,720 ounces gold* (5.32 million tonnes at 1.8g/t gold) and Inferred resource of 1,080,825 ounces gold* (13.7 million tonnes at 2.5g/t gold).  The RJV also has a 100% interest in the fully permitted, 1.2mtpa, Three Mile Hill Mill processing plant.  Scoping studies have been initiated to determine the viability of reactivating the Three Mile Hill Mill in the near term.

* For more information on the stated gold resources of Committee Bay Resources Ltd., please refer to the detailed NI 43-101 compliant technical reports filed on SEDAR by Committee Bay on December 20, 2004, and by Matador Exploration Inc. (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Committee Bay Resources Ltd.) on July 18, 2005.

Committee Bay Resources Ltd. maintains an extensive quality control program in the preparation, shipping and checking of all samples from the property.  The program is supervised by Peter Kleespies, M.Sc. P.Geol., Vice President of Exploration (Australia), who is the Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101.

Committee Bay now controls major greenstone belts in Nunavut and Western Australia and has the opportunity to conduct year-round exploration on three continents in order to build on its existing gold resources.
